6 Day 5 Night Off Road CRF tour
Day 1. Chiang Rai to Wiang Kaen.

Once we are about 30 km out we start taking the secondary and back roads making our way on some single tracks throughout the day.
Lunch is served at a local restaurant on the way.
From Thoeng we head off road into the mountains on some single tracks. We then take the mountain twisty roads to Phu Chi Fah for a visit.
From Phu Chi Fah we are off road again to Pang Hat where we take secondary road to Wiang Kaen and relax at our charming accommodation.
Day 2. Wiang Kaen to Chiang Saen .

After breakfast we head to Chiang Khong where we meet up with the mighty Mekong and keep it at our shoulder throughout the day.
Staying right on highway 4007 we make our way along the river on and off road to Chiang Saen and the Golden Triangle.
We stop for a visit in Chiang Saen. Here we will take on some history and a visit to a temple. A must see would be the Pagoda Wat Prathat Pra Ngao this temple sits high atop the mountain prior to entering Chiang Saen.
Have a chat to the local Monk who speaks English.
Lunch is served at a local restaurant on the way. We leave Chiang Saen for a visit to the Golden Triangle, House of Opium Museum and maybe a boat trip on the Mekong river if time is available.
Here we spend the night with a short trip back to Chiang Saen at which point we will relax and enjoy quiet evening in the border town.
Day 3. Chiang Saen to Mong Khao Laung hilltribe village

After breakfast we head off to Mae Sai leaving the Mekong behind.
Before heading up the mountains we will visit Wat Thum Pla where you can feed some wild monkeys.
We then make our way back towards Mae Sai and up the mountain along the border between Thailand and Myanmar through police check points.
Lunch is served at a local restaurant on the way. On this leg of the trip we will immerse you into the Ahka hill tribe.
Here you start to see a lot more of the real Thailand. We make our way off and on road to a Ahka hill tribe village where we spend the night.
Here you help and learn some of their cooking methods and culture. After dinner we just relax and enjoy the people's company for the evening.
Day 4. Mong Khao Laung, Akha hilltribe village to Thaton.

Again traveling these beautiful mountain roads where en route we will visit the Botanical Gardens, Doi Tung Royal Villa.
Then on to Doi Mae Salong for a taste of the teas from the Chinese tea farmers.

We then make our way to Thaton on and off road. When we reach Thaton we relax at our inviting accommodation.
Day 5. Thaton to Ban Laung.

After breakfast we will visit Wat Thaton a top the mountain to enjoy the morning view.
Then we make our way on some amazing off road tracks and mountain roads to Ban Laung.

After spending the day in the mountains around the border of Myanmar we make our way to Ban Laung for a relaxing night at your accommodations again in another border town.
Day 6. Ban Laung to Chiang Rai.
